This lovely vehicle pulled up next to me while I was running some errands today. Best I could tell, this might be some kind of kit. You can kinda make out the raised edge of the plastic piece holding the kidney grilles.
I just checked... !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

Why?

So you can be a pretentious asshole in a $10k car.

You can buy a nice looking BMW for 10k. No excuses, KIA owners.

Reliability? Wait, nvm.

The problem is keeping that BMW going. A $10k BMW is going to cost you well more than $10k over the life of the car. There's a reason I just drove home a used Mazda3 instead of a used 3-series, despite both falling into my price range.

My parents traded their 2004 Sorento for a 2011 328xi a couple years ago. If I had known about this then, I could have saved them the trouble!

Get one for <$10k and put the savings into repairs

I think it's silly to assume a level of status based on one's belongings, whether it's a BMW crossover or a Louis Vuitton handbag or a pair of Gucci loafers or whatever... and it's even sillier to assume that same status when the thing is a knockoff of the real thing. So, yeah, the Kia Sorento driver needs a dope slap.

It's for KIAs that have blown turn signal globes, just stick the kidneys on and BAM! No need to use turn signals ever again.

For someone like us, sure. But for the the kind of person that's going to drive an X-series, or ESPECIALLY this, I don't think they're gonna think that way.
As for me, I skipped the 3-series because of a number of reasons. Insurance was a bitch, my mom was given a license to be a bit overly controlling when she somehow ended up with the insurance payout, and I would've ran out of money for repairs before I would've been able to buy another car, anyway. The Mazda/Subaru option ended up being the best compromise. Believe me, I would've loved to have flown out to California to go buy a Volvo P1800 instead, let alone an E30 or E36.
